Welcome to Spring in the Midwest. Thunder, lightening, rain and tornado warnings.

Luckily we’ve been little impacted thus far and steady progress continues. The Core Mechanics have reached V1.3 for play testing. I think we’re making solid progress on ironing out clarity and conflicts. I worked up a lexicon so we could become more concise in our language throughout the rules. Now we’re operating with the same vocabulary.

I removed all the setting specific references and rules from the core mechanics to allow the play test to proceed without getting bogged down with rules or mechanics that would only impact a single setting. We will swing around and play test the setting specific materials as we cycle closer to release on those projects. The Warrior PVP combat trials were revealing on damage vs protection and health. We will likely be experimenting with Mystics next to compare the damage and defensive capacity of the magic system to physical weaponry. I have a mass combat scenario and 1 vs group using a dragon to test out group dynamics once we’re comfortable with the core combat and magic systems.

Regarding setting, I’ve continued to develop the cultures, geography, history and political ties for the World of Andrus. This triggered a reevaluation of some of the Anima details but overall helped focus the whole project better. Once the core mechanics are complete I hope the Anima source material to quickly follow.

Thanks for reading and your patience while we get this right the first time instead of rushing it to publication.
